Copyrights and Semiconductors come under the umbrella of Ministry of Industry and Commerce

The Hon’ble President of India  has approved the addition of  The Copyright Act and The Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout Design Act to come under Ministry of Industry and Commerce vide a notification dated May 30,2016 . The  present Controller general of Patents, Designs and Trademark will  head the copyright office also.
